Two voices, one mirror. A duet about choosing yourself, at last and right on time. Written and produced entirely in-house.
Hmmmm... mine to hold. Hmmmm... mine to hold. I always said tomorrow, tomorrow knew my name, I gave my heart to everyone and loved them all the same. Then last night in the mirror, like a man meets his match, I met my own eyes burning, and this time I stared back. Enough of someday, enough of one day, enough of soon, my blood is drumming, drumming, and it's drumming out a tune. It's drumming louder, louder, like it's calling out my name: I'm done with only watching, I'm stepping in the game. Fire in my chest, lightning down my spine, I feel the morning fill my lungs, I feel the light begin to shine. Piece by piece it's falling into place: this moment is truly mine. I know the art of caring, the art of giving room, I planted springs in other lives and watched them come to bloom. I've carried worlds upon my shoulders, never missed a beat, now all that strength comes home to me, from my head down to my feet. This morning in the quiet light, like a queen meets her crown, I met my own eyes shining, and I did not look down. And all the love I gave away was never given wrong: it taught me how to hold a life, and now I hold my own. Fire in my chest, shivers down my spine, I feel the morning fill my lungs, I feel the light begin to shine. Piece by piece it's falling into place: this moment is truly mine. The one I was waiting for is me. Mine to hold, mine to hold, this life, this fire, this morning gold. I am right on time, every heartbeat mine, mine to hold, mine to hold. I choose me. I choose me. Not tomorrow. Now. Grateful for the breath, for the rhythm, for the glow, every part of me is here, and I let it show. Grateful for it all, for the fire and the gold, every step was leading me to what is mine to hold. The one I was waiting for is me.
